Kallarje Inc. is a New York City–based, two-generation, family-rooted entertainment company founded in 2005 and led by musician, producer, promoter, and longtime bandleader George “Bodacious” Bowman Jr.
Built around the energy of live music, Kallarje brings together funk, blues, rock, soul, R&B, hip-hop, jazz, gospel, and classic favorites for performances designed to connect generations. A strong core of performers is joined by rotating musicians depending on the production—giving rise to the Kallarje All-Stars, a flexible collective where the lineup may change, but the spirit of the music remains the same.
The Man Behind the Music
George Bowman’s musical story began in Harlem at eight years old, when his father took him to piano lessons. He studied classical piano as a child before discovering doo-wop and, at 15, the instrument that would become central to his musical life: the bass guitar.
Growing up in Harlem’s James Weldon Johnson Houses, George rehearsed and performed at the community center with his early group, The Masters. He later became a member of The Moment of Truth, whose 1975 disco hit “Helplessly” brought national attention and became an important milestone in his recording career.
George went on to perform with The Undisputed Truth, touring internationally in Spain, Germany, and Denmark, as well as performing throughout the United States. Those experiences became the foundation for decades of performing, producing, promoting, and creating opportunities for live music.
The Music Continues
Today, Kallarje carries that history forward through the Kallarje All-Stars, bringing seasoned musicians together with family and a new generation of performers. From live shows to original recordings, fresh interpretations of familiar songs, and music-inspired merchandise, Kallarje continues to evolve without losing the foundation that started it all:
